Meet Your New Division 3 Hockey Team at Indiana University Coaches and Captains!


The Division 3 Hockey Team at Indiana University are proud to announce the new coaching staff and three captains for the 2016-2017 season!

Head Coach: Jack Manard

Assistant Coach: Kevin Wagner

Coach Jack Manard was born in Detroit, Michigan, where he played in the Michigan TCHL and in Ontario, Canada. He has 4 children – Blake, Alec, Tara and Michelle who is a current senior at IU.

An alumnus of Western Michigan University, Coach Manard began his coaching career in Carmel, Indiana, coaching at a variety of Tier II and Tier I levels from Squirt AA to Midget Major AAA to High School in the ISHSHA. While coaching at Carmel, HS, his team won 3 State Championships, several league championships, and enjoyed numerous tournament victories. In 2014, he received the President’s Award, which honors people who are longtime, dedicated volunteers who donate their time and energy to help advance hockey.

A Level 5 USA Hockey, Master Hockey Coach, he also is the Head Coach of the statewide Team Indiana U18 hockey team and Director of Hockey for the Team Indiana Hockey program, which also has a U16 and girl’s hockey program – all designed to provide hockey and academic opportunities for Indiana high school players.

Coach Kevin Wagner has been assisting several professional hockey players over the past 21 years.

He was the Initiation Hockey Program Director for Ft Wayne Youth Hockey from 1998 to 2001. During this time, he assisted in the implementation of the USA Hockey's Cross Ice Hockey Development Program in Fort Wayne, IN. Also, he was the Fort Wayne Youth Hockey House League Hockey Director from 2001 to 2005 and the President of Fort Wayne Youth Hockey Association from 2005 to 2010.

Coach Wagner has experience in several head coaching and assistant coaching positions at all levels. He managed and was the assistant coach of the FW Komets Midget Minor team that advanced to Nationals in Green Bay, Wi. and two years later was an assistant coach of The Columbus Icemen high school team that went to Nationals in Omaha, NE.

Manard, Wagner, and the team captains are beyond thrilled to be leaders for the Division 3 Hockey Team at Indiana University and are looking forward to a successful season.
